Create your NEW YEAR

As 2023 is drawing to an end, and we are entering into a brand New Year, this is a great time to think about, and plan for the year ahead.

Often, people set a ” New Years Resolution”. The problem with New Years Resolutions are, people start with the full intention and motivation for their chosen goal, but after some time, the motivation reduces, this can lead to a short term trend , that looses its essence o purpose. Below are some simple steps to consider when setting your New Years Resolution or Goal:

Think about a realistic goal that will be beneficial for you and your overall wellbeing, not just for the short term, but for the longer term. Try to imagine what it would look like, or be like, in 6 months, or a years time from now.

Try not to set too many goals, as this can then become unsustainable.

Set a target, for example, after one month, if you are still continuing practising your New Years Resolution, or Goal, give yourself a reward for your achievements. This can support and maintain motivation.

After a while, sometimes a resistance can occur, this is where the new goal may loose its newness. If this happens, it’s useful to bring in some more self discipline. Go back to the “Why’s”. Remind yourself why did you set this goal.

The start of a New Year, is a wonderful opportunity to invite newness in. What do you want your New Year to be like. Think positive, draw a vision board, write down what you would like to achieve in the year ahead. Visualise it, and feel into it.

Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead.

Your Heart is amazing

The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. Research has found that the hearts electromagnetic field is 5,000 times more powerful that what the brain produces.

Wow , that’s powerful. The heart has many qualities that can enhance your life in so many ways. Have a go at practicing a simple 2min mindful meditation/breathing exercise.

Sitting comfortably, place one hand on your chest, the other on your stomach. Become aware of your heart in the centre of your chest, notice how your body moves with your breath. Just breath normally, gently, inhale, exhale. Don’t worry if your mind wanders onto other things, just gently bring you attention back to your heart , and sit peacefully there for a few mins. Gently pat your chest with your hand, or pat your stomach, whatever feels natural to you. Introduce a affirmation, such as ” you are relaxed”, “you a loved”, “you are cared for”. Choose something positive to say to yourself, either out load or quietly to yourself.

Have a go at practicing this 2 min mindful practice daily, or whenever you feel like it. This is a nice, simple, nurturing practice that you deserve to give to yourself. Your gift from you to you.

Be in your body, not in your bonet

Do you feel that you are constantly thinking, that your mind is on the go. Your thinking jumping from one thing to the next? Recognising this, can be the first step to make change. When you feel like this, be mindful of connecting to your body. Become more aware of all of your senses. For example, focus on how your feet feel on the ground, notice the sensations of the air around you, are there any smells you have become aware of? How do your clothes feel on your body, notice the different noises you can hear, and the distances between you and that sound. Being in nature can support feeling more connected to your body, feeling more grounded.

To much information.

Have you every heard the saying, “your mind is a sieve”? meaning a tendency to be forgetful. Do you sometimes get the feeling that there’s just too much information out there, whether you are actively searching for it, or its just there, via the many avenues available, such as TV, internet, newspapers ect.. And that the mind can feel like it’s just full and unable to stop thinking, even throughout the night?

You can actually choose your mind to be a sieve, and work for you, as appose to against you. Actively being mindful of the amount of time you spend on the internet, mobile phone ect… is the first step. Limiting your screen time, internet, organically reduces the amount of information available to you. Choosing what you are interested in, to watch or read or think, as appose to just wandering. Choosing things of interest to watch or read or search, and learning about a certain topic, as appose to learning about something that really does not serve as any purpose to you. Choosing to read, watch, research or learn, creates an information container of sorts, with a boundary. Filtering out things that are “just there” can allow for more space, and in turn the space can create a sense of slowing down, not in a physical sense, more on an energetic level. People grow when they learn new things, so I am not suggesting to stop what you enjoy, but rather be more mindful and selective, using your mind as a sieve of sorts.

Inner resilience

We all have inner resilience, and this is built on many different factors. One thing that I believe is very important, is to recognise your own inner resilience as well as supporting it. Recognising your inner resilience strengthens your inner abilities and trust within yourself. Most people have experienced some sort challenge or difficulty in life, and whilst this experience was less than ideal, and something that a person would of preferred not to happen, it is something that enables a person to change, grow, and move forward, however long this may have taken. Remember a time in your life that was challenging, and remind yourself that you have moved on from this and in the process, your inner resilience has been strengthened. It’s equally as important to recognise when to reach out to your support network for help.

Here are some things that you can do to support and strengthen your inner resilience.

Embrace change

Build positive beliefs about yourself

Change your vocabulary to a more positive one

Happy Healthy Balanced and Harmonious New Year greetings.

Happy Healthy Balanced and Harmonious New Year.

We are now into a new year, and a brand new decade. This is an excellent time to think about how and what you would like your year ahead to be like. My caption above really does give you a clear direction to how to start thinking about how you want your year to unfold. Remember when you was a child, and your imagination had no limits? For example role playing as a character, you really did think you was that person or animal. Or when you may have read a book and felt that you was in the story or could clearly visualise a place. Now apply this to the year ahead. Simple steps to a fantastic year. Believe – focus – think – feel. Allow positivity and good feelings to be within. Enjoy.
